Landsharks

That's what I'm calling the kids these days. Technically, a landshark is Hawai'ian for someone who says they surf, but doesn't really. Well, our kids say they swim, but don't really. Well, Mac kind of does, but only for about 4 feet. Katie does as long as I catch her before she sinks. BUT, they are way enthusiastic about water and love being in the pool. I told them they can't go on the big waterslide next month (at the pool where we're going) until they can actually swim.

Meanwhile, they're making measureable progress at their swim lessons (T,W,Thursdays). Mac starts rookie baseball next week too. We gave up dog training classes for this go-round cause the kids swimming needs to take priority. Missy is doing pretty well anyhow. We need to get her through at least one (if not two) more round of obedience before we can start agility training. Then we can work her towards becoming a therapy dog.

Meanwhile, the hobbies are moving along as well. Teresa is still painting even though Jackie, her instructor, is taking some time off. I am still heavily involved with the band, especially this time of year as the Jazz at Newport festival approaches. We have several shows this summer, but haven't played live since January, due to spending a fair amount of time setting up the recording equipment in the studio. Doing alot of composing lately too. The latest is an untitled ballad in 6/8 in Dminor. Spent Saturday in the backyard building a garden box/retaining wall for Teresa. She's got stuff growing all over the kitchen counter that needs to be replanted in the real ground, so that was a priority. Got a nice sunburn from it, but need that anyway for the May trip. ONLY 25 DAYS. (We're a bit pumped!) Later.....

It's about time! And it's about time I checked it out. I haven't really been on the computer since I left for OK. But now I'm back. It was crazy, sad, and stressful but I'm glad I could go. I'm glad the kids are making such progress swimming. That's an invaluable skill. And you built something? WOW!!! Should put pics of that up too. I don't have time to check your other posts yet but I will soon. Crazy right now. Glad you got some stuff up. Love ya.
